with all the fuss in Westminster should our local councilors be publishing their expenses so that we can see they are decent honest citizens ?

I'd certainly like to see that. We all can admit to receiving certain 'perks' in our jobs, that's part of life. However these people (MP's) are in positions of considerable power & influence and their 'perks' are on an exponentially higher scale.
