Where have you had a good Pub meal locally?*

What about fish & chips?

Chinese or Indian food?

Where's good? (or not so good)

*Let's keep it within about 10 miles of Caldicot.

We've always had very good meals at The Castle Inn, Caldicot, so we usually head there for a local pub meal.

For a change we go to the Groes Wen at Penhow (http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/thegroesweninnpenhow/) which had a lovely menu when we were last there about 3 months ago.

Another one we enjoyed was Sunday lunch at The Old Ferry Inn at Beachley, near Chepstow. Wonderful views from the all big windows around the lounge area. It also appears to be very "dog friendly" - several customers had dogs with them while we were there and the owner's rather elderly dogs wander around freely. I was a bit surprised to see them plodding through the restaurant area... it didn't put us off our food but some diners might not like it... it's unusual to fine dogs allowed in the main eating area of a pub.
