Yes... and some newer residents in this area may not realise that if they have an address in Monmouthshire they can get a free admission pass for the castle. You can get one from the library or the castle itself - Just take along something to prove your home address.

It doesn't give you free admission if there's a special event happening inside the castle (e.g. The Rare Plants Fair or Re-Enactment groups) but it will give you a reduced admission charge.

There's a re-enact thingy this weekend actually.

Looks kind of dudey, oldy worldy fair, knights training, archery- should be quite cool if it's a nice weekend.

If I go and you are planning on go, don't be afriad I promise not to weild any of the sharp objects.........

Good reminder, I haven't been round the castle since summer 2000, I think I'll a revisit is called for this year.
