Have any of you ever written to your local councillor, and how did you find the response?

I've only ever tried once, and did not receive a response. I'm hopeful I'm in a minority and others have had more joy.

Would be delighted to hear from you regarding your experiences.

Never actually had need to write to the councilors.

Know they've visited my street alot, due to some complaints about goal posts and bus stops. I know weird things to complain over, but hey. So some of them must responde to letters, and calls.

Hope that's some help at least.

Thier address are posted on the monmouthshire website, if you want to knock at thier door at 3.00 in the morning and enquire whether they've ever recieved your letter lol.

I've tried emailing local councilors about this site but not had any notable response. I had hoped the leaflet campaign would prompt some councilors to take an active role on this site. Perhaps when numbers increase then local councilors will partake.

I came to this site after having one of the leaflets through the door.

Have you thought of printing off a few A5 sized notices about this forum, laminating them, then distributing them around local shops and, maybe, on the noticeboards, like the one in the Caldicot town centre?

Also, the local U3A have (or used to have) an active Computer group and I was wondering whether they might generate a few more participants.

Sorry... back on topic...

My O/H was involved in Caldicot Neighbourhood Watch a few years ago and had occasion to write to MCC about a couple of matters. He got a standard "Thank you for your letter: It is receiving attention" reply and that was about it, as I recall.

We have had some posters designed but it's the usual issue of cost and time to have them printed and distributed.

Anway, back on topic.

I have emailed the local councilors in the past encouraging them to join this site and use it to relate relevant information to us all but have had no success to date. I was hoping the recent leaflet drop would provide further motivation, but no luck.

I'm sure they'd have plenty to contribute and so ask if you could individually email your councilor and encourage them to join this site please.

If you click on your councilors name on the home page of this site, that will kick off your email program prefilled with the councilors email address.
