Had a young lad knock on the door last night about 6:30pm. He handed me a coupon and explained that someone would phone that evening and tell me what 'prize' I had won.

He then asked for my name to write down and when I informed him he wouldn't be getting it, he snatched the coupon from my hand stating "I'll have that back then", turned and walked off.

Obviously this is a scam but I'm not sure exactly what he intended to do with my details but please be warned, he/they may be operating further afield.

Maybe he just fancied you and wanted your name and number. :p And just got upset that you wouldn't accept his gift. Bet you broke his heart. *pulls out a violin*

I've got a good one for unwanted religious maginzine sellers. Try to convert them into joining your cult, and buying your magizines when they knock your door, it kind of confuses them, and they leave......

I've never understood why certain companies/concerns feel they should come cold-calling at my door...

After all, if I wanted new double glazing (or a new religion, for that matter) I'd do some research, get a few quotes from firms and then choose which one I wanted to go for.

I don't get cold-callers trying to sell me new carpets/central heating/car/vacuum cleaner/dinner service/garage door/horse/whatever, so why do just certain products get promoted in this way?
